Fractional Fundraising isn't a new idea. But it is a new movement that is changing how we think about fundraising for small nonprofits.Recently, I was a guest on Cindy Wagman's "The Fractional Fundraising Movement 2024" podcast where we chatted all about my journey from fundraising in house for small nonprofits, to growing a thriving fundraising consulting business. It is the best of both worlds - I get to help organizations grow their fundraising and make a bigger impact, without sacrificing all of the things that go along with a full time role within an organization. There are about 30 of us in this group, all with unique areas of expertise as fundraising generalists. Some are busy parents. Some have other projects they pursue on the side. Some of us have other businesses (like mine at Connect For Good 😊)And some are just burnt out from the realities of working within organizations. We fill a gap in the Canadian and US nonprofit sector by offering Director levelfundraisingstrategy and implementation services, for the price of a junior levelfundraiser. We work with each organization for a minimum of 12 months and they pay their consultant directly anywhere between $4,000-$5,000 each month.Consultants work part time hours for each client and have between 1-6 clients at any given time, depending on how much they want to work.Cost to join TheFractionalFundraisingAcademy: $9,000 CAD or $6,700 USDWhat you receive: TheFractionalFundraisingAcademy is essentially a "business in a box" to either begin yourfundraisingconsulting journey OR to continue your consulting with more support, templates, a very straightforward framework, and a community of consultants who share ideas, knowledge and leads for more clients. This week we are chatting when to hire an expert to help with your giving strategy. I answer the question of when donors should consider hiring an expert to help with their giving strategy, versus when to go it alone. Drawing from experience and recent client interactions to help you decide if you would benefit from using an intermediary as a guide in your giving strategy.Episode Highlights:When to use an intermediary in your giving strategyKey functions of intermediariesTune in on to the Do Your Good Podcast here:
